Jillian Gesumaria was born in New Jersey and graduated Marist College Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Digital Media and a minor in Fashion Merchandising. Her work can be described as whimsical, colorful and dynamic. She uses a variety of materials and processes such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Affects, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Corel Painter, Lightroom, Animate and Dreamweaver. Along with plaster, a camera, charcoal and various paints and oils, she focuses on multiple subject matters in pop culture specifically incorporating bright colors and sharp lines. Graphic Design and Illustration are her main passions, and her inspirations for them stem from growing up with four little brothers and being surrounded by cartoons and playful material. Companies like Pixar, DreamWorks and Nickelodeon have always inspired her, and she has studied their distinct styles of character development throughout history to adapt a style of her own. Although each of her pieces vary, they are linked through the ability to portray her thoughts without putting them into words. Through research, past experiences and new events, subjects arise and lead to the next piece for Gesumaria.
